The only gains seem to be those short-term kinds (a program can be made faster, rewards can be reaped by senior people who have thought about stuff for a while), rather than encouraging a healthy environment of creativity….

This comment stuck out to me. As a more senior developer, I’ve seen programs I’ve always wanted materialize in front of me with AI agents. I hadn’t considered that knowing what to make is such a differentiator.
